Family Court assessments require a blend of compassion and professionalism, in order to accurately undertake a comprehensive assessment and provide relevant and meaningful reports, whilst attending to the health and well-being needs of the individual being assessed.
Families undergoing PLO and Care Proceedings experience substantial stress and anxiety, often whilst having reduced access to their usual support network. I strive for sensitivity and compassion to the emotional impacts of being part of PLO or Care Proceedings, in order to maximise engagement and therefore produce meaningful reports for the court.
I work closely with instructing parties to identify any potential barriers in advance and think creatively to address any difficulties. This ensures findings are of the highest level of validity and reliability, which can be used to produce concise and high-quality reports.
By undertaking comprehensive assessments, this allows robust psychological formulation of complex situations. This ensures that the report will provide an expert clinical opinion on an individual’s presentation, any individual and wider systemic needs, the potential contributing factors, and recommendations for future interventions and support.
